At our last reunion in 2001, it was announced that Rene had died in 1996. I believe he was living in the Washington, D.C. area and recently retired from the Navy as a Rear Admiral. Rene was a Viet Nam Vet.

From other sources, Rene' received his Bachelor of Science from the US Naval Academy in 1965, a Master of Science from Scripps Institute of Oceanography, and a second Master of Science in Computer Systems Management from the US Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
Rene' served his nation with honor and integrity. Rest in Peace.

Rene was a neighbor, classmate, and friend (and occasional partying buddy along with Ricky and Harold). I never heard him say unkind word about anyone, although he often showed surprise at what could come out of my mouth. It was my privilege and pleasure to know him.

I was recently reminded that Rene' made off with a lassie I was kinda keen on at the time. She knows who she is!! She couldn't have picked a nicer, smarter and more-gentlemanly guy. She got the better end of the deal! I was happy for them both. I'm not surprised if Rene' made Flag rank as reported in one post..
