Marvellous youtube video sent on December 18th by Mary Edginton (via Patricia Barber from the Wits Alumni Office) in her recent update sent to the class on GoogleGroups  about the progress of the fundraising for the Phillip Tobias Fund. 

Incidental finding - 

From an obituary note from Durban High School -

"Professor Tobias was 86 years old; born in Durban in 1925.  He attended DHS from 1939 and matriculated in 1942 as Dux."

 I checked on this as about 1 minute into the video Prof Tobias is seen with a basher and dark blazer (sans badge) but with a distinctive tie which was readily recognizable to me and would be I guess also to other ex- DHS "banana boys"  Erroll Hackner and Justin Silver. None of us came close to being Dux.
