Cheryl Rae Satterwhite (Sherry), 46, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, was called home to eternal rest with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004, at Akron General Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 6, 1958, in Akron, Ohio, and graduated from John R. Buchtel High School. She worked for the City of Akron and was last employed by the Haven of Rest Ministries. Cheryl profoundly confessed Christ as her Lord and savior; she lived her life to reflect her faith. She was a founding member of New Millennium Missionary Baptist Church, the adult choir, choir communications director, volunteered for the church annual summer youth program and as the director of the Food Service Program, and was a former member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Cheryl loved the Lord and her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph W. Satterwhite; brother, Robert L. Satterwhite; and grandparents. She leaves, to cherish her precious memory, mother, Anna K. Satterwhite; sister, Leverne (Silver) Powell, all of Akron, Ohio, and JoAnne (Curtis) Minter of Farmington Hills, Mich.; brother, Charles (Loretta) Satterwhite of Akron; special nephew, Billy (Shantial) Satterwhite; special niece, Sheena T. Powell; special great-niece, Phoenix Satterwhite; special friends, Lottie Giddings, Corene and Annette Grant of Akron; adopted daughter, Amanda Bryant; special nephews, Michael Minter and Matthew Minter; special friend, Karine Bryant; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 12 noon, at New Mil lennium Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Benny Williams officiating. Interment at Mount Peace Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday at the church from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. The procession will form and condolences may be sent to 661 Frederick Blvd.
