Michelle Renee Walker (Shelly) passed to glory on July 4, 2013, after a short illness. Michelle was a 1977 graduate of John R. Buchtel High School. She received an associate degree in accounting from Southern Ohio College. She was employed by Alpha Phi Alpha Homes as an Account Receivable Clerk for 20 years until time of death. Michelle was a perfectionist, she loved to cook and organize. She attended Thompson Memorial.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wavie and Tommie Walker; and niece, Desiree Walker. She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Latoya Walker; grandson and apple of her eye, Martavin; grandson (unborn), Tristan; son, Alonzo Sykes; siblings, Karen Walker of Atlanta, Ga., Barbara (Donald), Mark, and Karla Walker all of Akron, Ohio; special cousin, Tracy (Darren) Townsend; favorite niece and nephew, Delina and James Walker; special friend, Steve; and a host of nieces, nephews, and family. 

Homegoing services will be held at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, Saturday, July 13th at 11 a.m., Pastor Willie Templeton eulogizing. Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment Mt. Peace Cemetery. Procession will form at 814 Seward Ave., Akron, OH 44320.
