Michael M. Miller

I was just made aware of another classmate’s passing in January. Mike Miller passed away on January 18, 2018. Mike took the initiative and spearheaded our 45 year reunion. Below is the obituary from the Kansas City Star. Rest In Peace Mike.

Alice Jean Maslan Grossman

It is with great sadness that I report to you of the passing of our our friend and classmate, Alice Maslan Grossman. Many of us were dear and close friends through school and beyond. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and for her eternal peace. Her funeral services are tomorrow, Monday, January 8, 2018 at 10:30 am. Please follow the link to her obituary below and keep her family in your prayers.

Michael S. McCool

Hello classmates, sadly another classmate's passing in today's KC Star. I confirmed with Mike's brother Mark (SW/74) and a celebration of life is planned for tomorrow...RIP Mike

RIP Carder Manning. The following was posted May 30, 2017 on the Southwest High School Facebook page, from Carder Manning's stepdaughter.

To Each of You in the Class of 1969 and others, before and after: You may or may not remember me, but I'm Carder Manning's stepdaughter. He passed away today at 2:20 this afternoon... He was such a wonderful part of my life, as I know he was to so many of you. He LOVED attending your reunion - you each made him feel so special. I can not thank you enough for your kind thoughts, cards and memories to him when I contacted you earlier. He appreciated SO MUCH every note and you sent his way... Bless his heart, he was so fun and funny and thought so much of each of you. He is watching down from above, as you travel through the road of life. Thanks, again, for your time and thoughts to make him smile. God needed an Angel Choir director, he could not have found anyone better than Carder. - Linda Fleetwood,

Sure looking forward to the reunion! We were an intersting crew, us Southwest High grads of 1970! Interesting to see how we have "matured"; though in my case, there's little hope thereof.

Permelia Ann "Missy" Zuk

Sadly, Kris Whittaker notified me this morning of another Classmate's passing. Ann's (or Missy's) obituary was in the Kansas City Star  this morning. Please follow the link below:

John Livingston

Hello Classmates, I hope you are all well and happy. Once again I am the bearer of sad news as we have lost another classmate, John Livingston. I received the notification from  Sara Livingston but had not gotten access to my desktop computer to post this. Ironically my son is now living in Lakewood, Colorado which was where John resided. Please go to the obituary at the link below if you wish to express your condolences to John's family. Stay well, Gladys

Janet Sue Wertheim

Hello Classmates, I hope this note finds you all well. Sadly I received notice of another classmate's passing. Janet Sue Wertheim passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, at her home in Overland Park, Kansas. I did not personally know Janet, but if you did or have some special memory of her please share it on her page. It seems that she is survived by one cousin and you may leave messages on the online guest book  through the link below.

Mr. Marvin J. Nuernberger

Hello Classmates, hope you are all well. I got a message from John Taylor this morning that Bingham Vice Principal, Marvin J. Nuernberger, had passed away. He wanted classmates to know. Here's the link to his obituary:

Several classmates atttended Charlie's memorial celebration today. It was in true "bigger-than-life" fashion as our friend himself was.

I want to thank all who have sent me information on our lost friends.  Sadly though, my request for information produced yet another classmate who also recently passed away; Bob Weilert- please read the obituary below from August 30, 2012

RE: Charles Hawley Clay- "Charlie"- Charlie's obituary was in today's Kansas City Star. There is a memorial service scheduled in Kansas City for Monday, October 22nd. Please follow link below to the Kansas City Star Obituary for all information or if you wish to leave the family a note on the online Guest Book. Rest in Peace Charlie.

RE: MARK JOYCE- Dear, Classmates sadly I did not see this until it was to late to post in time so that all who wanted to attend could go. I wanted to make sure and verify the information before posting. Even though time has passed, you may still sign his guest book online at the Cullen Funeral Home site and can send a message to his family. I remember Mark as such a kind person who always had a smile on his face. Rest in peace Mark.

RE: Marcia Sandbrook Rogers. Sad to post this announcement but wanted everyone to see in time to attend if desired. Will post more later. Gladys

I went for Happy Hour with my mom at The Grand Court yesterday and was surprised to see Mr. Wally Good!  He is doing great and having a GRAND time - living life large!  He enjoyed talking to me (and Vanessa) and we were never his students.

Happy New Year, Class of 1970!

Class Creator made us an offer we couldn't pass up so we have renewed our site license for 10 years!  Many of you have contributed so that we can make that possible - Thank you very much!  Class Creator continues to support our efforts and continues to upgrade this site so we can stay in touch with each other.

Several people have updated their profiles since the reunion.  I hope we continue to do that!  I also hope that as we encounter more classmates from our class, we encourage them to come here to this Class Creator site as our "home base".

I hope this year continues to find you healthy and happy!
