Mike was my first date in high school. We went to the homecoming dance our freshman year. We had a very nice time but never went out again after that.
As an adult in my mid-30's I became friends with a woman, Annette LePique, who dated Mike at CMSU. What a small world! He also became an urban pioneer buying a house in Hyde Park, and renovating it into a lovely home.
I saw him several years ago at the Home Depot in midtown. He was so excited about his daughter, Courtney McCool, who went to the Olympics on the balance beam. I think that was the last time I saw him. I did not even know he died until I saw it here. What a bummer.

He was a nice guy and a great dancer. When we were in college we won a "swing" dance competition. I still remember how much fun we had that night. God's speed!
