Here again I am not 100% on this memory but wasn't Sam an outstanding drummer?!! Not sure if he wound up in a band or not (although I am sure he had the talent). He put on a talent show either at Bingham or Southwest where he was the only performer and just amazed us and had people sceaming he was so good. He lived about 4 blocks from me and I would remember when we were younger riding my bike past his house and hearing him practice. Paul Wilson
Sammy and I sold Xmas trees with his family at 75th and Holmes. It was like being in a Scorsecci movie. Sammy, Sal and a few others and I had wild adventures sneaking into the pipe chases at Municipal Auditorium and coming out down below where the Circus animals were kept. And we would sneak into the Folly when Burlesque strippers worked the stage. We'd yell insults from the balcony at the working girls. Real Bowery Boy stuff. For a short guy Sammy was bigger than life.
