I did not know about Steve's Vietnam experience with Agent Orange. I do remember him as a great, fun guy to be around. We were teammates on the football team...he returned kicks because he was shifty and ran like the wind. So sorry about his passing.
Love you Steve, you know I could not force sobriety on you but the hand was there. He called me in his cups a few times but could not step away long enough to see the Candian Mist was blinding the way out. Booze does not cure anyone Steve will attest but the early years were spendid. He and Ricky Derringer were the fastest guys on the school yard. Once again damage at the home front haunted Steve. I knew him since we were young and away from home worked best for Steve. Shows our resposibility to our off spring to not pass baggage to your family but love them lightly and forever.

Steve passed away 11/19/2014 in Kansas City. I remember Steve always singing along with the Young Rascals, James Brown, and Wilson Pickett.
I also remember him at Phil Pittman's house playing cards and literally losing his sweater and other clothes trying to fill an inside straight.
