Bob was one of the leaders of the class.  His impact upon our class was great.  My first thought was what all pilots think at times like this.  Bob has flown west which is our version of flying into the sunset.  Somehow, based upon the tributes I've read, I suspect that he has different wings now.  Have a safe flight, aviator.

I remember Bob's spirit since elementary school--always upbeat, kind, happy, and smiling!  He made everyone feel comfortable around him.  I have pictures in my mind to this day of his smile from 7th grade.!  As I live in Colorado, even more of a shock. Does anyone have an address for cards?

If not, I will check the address of his office!. Wow--once again we remember that Life is unpredictable.  Live, love, and enjoy each day and those we love around us!

HIGH FLIGHT

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth

And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings.

Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth

Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things

You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung

High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,

I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung

My eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue

I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace

Where never lark, or even eagle flew.

And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod

The high untrespassed sanctity of space,

Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

By John Gillespie Magee, Jr.

Here is a video from the office of Bob Marquis.  They put it together since the plane accident.  He loved his plane, dog, family, grandkids, and Vet practice!

Though I did not know Bob personally, it is wonderful to read the outpouring of of love and sympathy (for his family) and great to hear of a life so well lived.  He was obviously a really good person, a kind and loving soul... may he rest in peace.
