IN MEMORY

Michael Barthol

Michael Barthol

Joanie Langworthy Tomek was looking at our "Missing" page and saw Louie Barthol's name. Sadly, Joanie's brother, David, stayed in touch with him and let us know that he passed away in 2015.  Slowly but surely, with help for all of you, we are finding out about those classmates who are missing and often, the news has been sad, as with Louie. Please share your memories--we want to honor those who have passed in a meaningful way at our reunion in October.

Mike "Louie" Barthol, 65, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015. Mike grew up in Kansas City, MO, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and served in the US Marine Corps Reserve. He had an eye for design and was a consummate builder, working in the sheet metal and construction industries prior to moving into finance. Mike was predeceased by his parents, Stein and Vera Barthol. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Pam, and their beloved Wheaten terrier; siblings Steve (Sherry), Lisa Miller (J.D.), Jeff (Meredith), and Andrea Byrne (Steve); and 15 nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Louie. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 22, 10:00 am, at Church of the Ascension, with visitation starting at 8:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating blood to the Community Blood Center or contributions to Church of the Ascension, 9510 W 127th St, Overland Park, KS 66213.
