Jan was only 50 yrs old when she passed away from lung cancer that had spread to her brain. She went to the ER late on Christmas Eve of 2006, after going to the 9 pm church service. Jan thought she had pneumonia, in the early hours of Christmas Day she found out it was lung cancer. Not long after she found out it had spread to her brain. Jan fought with every thing she had. It wasn't long after the cancer diagnosis that Jan found out she was going to be a Grandmother for the first time. She was determined to live long enough to see her grandbaby born! Jan did live long enough to see her granddaughter. July 2007, Jan passed away surrounded by her family. Jan was survived by her husband, son Benjamin Martin and his daughter. Jan was also survived by her Mother, one older sister, five younger sisters, one younger brother, and their families. She will forever be missed.
