I was sad to hear of Rogers passing. We were in Grade School at Columbus together but went separate paths after that. My prayers are with his family.

Roger and I grew up together since elementary school at Columbus Elementary on up.  We had a rock band in 5th and 6th grade called the Chapparels with Roger on Bass Guitar, Ronnie Wilson on Drums, Larry Hinds on Lead Guitar, Steve Hagan on Trumpet, Heather Reed on Vocals and me on Keyboards.  We used to have band practice in my basement and my dad used to record us which I still have a real to real tape of one of our practice sessions.   Those were fun and happy memories with Roger and our gang.   Roger will now move on to be with Steve and Ronnie again.  Eventually our whole band will reunite again and we will be rockin in heaven. You will be missed Roger but I know I will see you and the gang again and we will rock to the song Hold On and Midnight Hour.

As a another classmate moves on to his eteranal home, it serves as a good reminder to be thankful for each day we have to spend with the people we care about. As we all have grown to know by now, life goes by quickly. Roger was a fun person to be around. Roger and Danny Milkent and I skipped school in May of 1974 to go down to the harbor and get picked to be on a longshoremen crew, working on the cargo ships. It was our summer job to make money for college. $5.00/hr! back then, when gas was 19 cents a gallon. Roger would pick Danny and I up in his 455 Chevy El Camino. Very fast vehicle! We had a great time working the docks that summer and learned some new ways to use the english language.... Not to mention seeing the variety of entertainment the ships compliment would invite on the ships.... But that's a story for another day.... With Rogers' passing in mind, allow me to remind you of this; if you have any burdens on your heart (and some may be buried deep), from your life experiences, before it's to late, either seek forgiveness or grant forgiveness. It's amazing how your health will improve... may Rogers' passing inspire you to give or accept forgiveness before you leave this world behind... that's a good legacy!

Roger was one of my best friends in High School, college, and thru my life. We played softyball together for many years on a team he sponsored, DeHaan Plumbing, We vacationed together in Missouri, and I was best man at his wedding. Roger was always looking out for you and could always be counted on to have your back. Roger was very funny and your never knew what he would say next. Roger leaves behind a wonderful family and he will be truely missed. I know he is in a much better place, as his journey enters the next and most important phase. May God Bless him and keep watch over him
