40TH REUNION - OCTOBER 5, 2019

Hey Everyone!

Our Reunion website is back up and running and ready for you to OFFICIALLY REGISTER for our 40th Reunion.

Please register ASAP so we can start to get a solid headcount. And while you're at it, please update any information that may be outdated.

Here's the rundown for SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5TH:

2:00 pm: Alumni event at Marin Catholic during MC Homecoming: There's no need to register for this event, but will be nice for people planning to attend (or thinking about it) to see who else is going. YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY GO TO THIS!  You'll see people you know from all sorts of classes. (also, a great way to see what they've done with the old cafeteria!).

6:00 pm: Class of '79 40th Reunion: Includes a gourmet Buffet Dinner (your choice of delicious food stations throughout the venue), Open Bar, LIVE MUSIC (fingers crossed on this one - we're looking!) - and some of our Favorite Teachers stopping by!

NOTE ABOUT REGISTRATION PAYMENT: This site doesn't have an option for cash-transfer apps, which are infinitely easier and don't charge a fee. If easier for you too, please consider using one of the following to send your registration fee. I'll keep track! :-)

August 22, 2009:  You may already have received the postcard invitation to the reunion - if not - watch for it in the mail in the next few days. Please be sure to mail a check as soon as possible so we can cover the deposits for catering, DJ and the venue for the Saturday night dinner. (click on the Reunion Details tab on the left for info).

ALSO:  please send digital photos from high years school if you can. We'll try to pull together a slideshow using images that you send. Scan and send to lura.flynn@autodesk.com.

Room Block at Embassy Suites

We have established a block of rooms at a rate of $139.00 at the Embassy Suites Hotel San Rafael. This rate includes:  

• Accommodations in a 2-room suite with a living room area attached to a bedroom area (includes mini-refrigerator & microwave)
• A 2-hour evening reception featuring complimentary premium brand beverages & light snacks (5:30-7:30pm nightly)
• A full, cooked-to-order breakfast in the morning with omelets made to order & all breakfast items (6:30- 9:30 am Monday through Friday and 7:30-10:30am Saturday and Sunday)

Reunion Details Announced

August 2, 2009: The time and place is set! Now all you have to do is sign up. We'll start with a no-host mixer for class only and our favorite MC teachers on Friday, September 25 at 6pm at the Embassy Suites in San Rafael. On Saturday, we'll have fun cheering on the Wildcats at the Homecoming game at MC starting a 1pm. Then, Saturday night at 7 - we'll meet at the Elks Lodge in San Rafael to laugh and dance the night away.

Cost per person: $75 includes small-plates buffet dinner on Saturday night (i.e. no formal sit down dinner - just noshing through the night) - DJ, wine tasting / cocktail hour - and lots and lots of laughter.

The Countdown Begins!

July 17, 2009:  Believe it or not it's only TEN WEEKS until the reunion on September 26th. We've got a lot of excitement building; people everywhere just CLAMORING to attend! But we need your help. There are still lots of people we haven't heard from so we'll be making a broad effort to reach as many people as we can over the next few months.

The planning committee will be meeting in two weeks on August 27th. Please contact someone on the list below to let us know if you have any info on classmates, either not listed or who haven't registered. We need updated info ASAP.

ALSO - we'd like to extend the invitation to friends and former classmates who may not have graduated with the class, but attended during some portion of our time there. So please, feel free to drum up any of the old gang who you think might be interesting in hanging out again with the BEST CLASS EVER.

VENUE UPDATE: The general concensus has been to "keep it casual". So we've been looking at a few places. The new building at MC was first choice - but it won't be available until late October. We've currently got the San Rafael Elks lodge booked as a default, but are looking at the San Anselmo Log Cabin and a few other places as well just to have options. (BTW - checked out the Deer Park Villa - DRAKE class of '79 is having their reunion there that night - LET'S CRASH IT) . Also looking for a Friday night venue for classmates and faculty only - for a no-host cocktail hour mixer. The teachers love this and we've already got a bunch of em on the roster.

So stay tuned on the final announcement. We're hoping to keep this low budget, low maintenance but HUGE FUN.
