Mi have whole heap school story, which one u waan hear? you waan hear bout the ICI business or the cool Aid hair do down a Breezy Castle or when mi use to run from Mrs. Martin when mi see her. All when mi no do nuttin di woman affi gimme summin fi do, are send mi to har office. Dem days di ruff with Mrs. Martin wanting/trying to instill disciplin in us by any means nescesary. any way mi ago tell u bout di days them when mi use to sell saltfish and Red herring with crackers, Shrimp, sweetie u dun know anything weh fi mek a living and help mama with di school fee mi all fi that. Mi neva born wid gold spoon inna mi mout like some a you, but guess wha mi head was/is always above water and mi know weh mi Finegan gal was all about.
If you know di smell a dem ting deh weh mi sell, u shoulda also know seh you caan stay way down di corridor and smell it. so of course mi constantly get inna trouble. But there is a saying you caan beat them so you join them. Mi have all Teacher a buy from, Ms Lee our geography teacher would say sell what you selling, and mek mi get on wid mi class. She did just affi work with di programme or during class I would passing di the goods to the students. I wasn't an angel in school, but I was certainly a friend to all those who knew me well.
