Kenneth Ahlquist, 66, passed away suddenly Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Ruth Shaw-Lessard.

Kenneth was born in Portsmouth, NH on November 26, 1948, a son of the late Mary (Joyce) and Frederick Ahlquist. He was educated in Maine and graduated from Traip Academy in Kittery, Maine, class of 1967 and also attended McIntosh Business College in Dover, NH. He was also certified in Homeland Security from UMASS Lowell.

Ken served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Germany, until being honorably discharged.

For many years he was employed as a realtor for Laer Realty Partners and had previously worked in various food service sales and management positions.

He is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife, Ruth Shaw of Dracut; daughter, Brooke Elizabeth Ahlquist of Wells, ME; Christopher Ahlquist of Berwick, ME; 2 grandchildren, Sailor and Vandon Ahlquist; brother, Edwin Ahlquist and his wife Maryann of Kittery, ME; a sister, Brenda and her husband Clifford Bulley of Vallejo, CA; stepdaughter, Kris Lessard, stepson Keith Lessard and his wife Kim both of Dracut; step-grandchidren, Emily and Elizabeth Dobson, and Katie and Kyle Lessard, as well as several nieces and nephews.
