Clarence Allen

Clarence "Bud" Allen, 62, of Birch Hill Road in York, died on Saturday May 30, 2009 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born in Eliot on Feb. 16, 1947, he was a son of Lawrence and Dorothy M. (Peterson) Allen. He was raised in Kittery and graduated from R.W. Traip Academy in 1967.

Following his schooling, Bud proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, serving in Korea and Vietnam.

After his time in the military he returned to the Seacoast, where he and his wife of 39 years, Edna (Howell) Allen, have made their home and raised their family. They first lived for a time in Kittery Point and for many years have made their home in York on Birch Hill Road.

Bud worked for over 10 years at Watts Fluid Air in Kittery, Exeter Machine Shop, LinCor in Eliot and as a long-haul trucker. Before his retirement, he worked for American Medical Response throughout the Seacoast.

Bud is survived by his loving family; his wife Edna (Howell) Allen of York; daughter, Keri, and her husband, Eric Hardy, of Eliot; and a son, Scot, and his wife, Samantha Allen, of West Newfield, Maine; grandchildren, Britney, Skye, Steele and Shado; sisters, Brenda, and her husband, Ken Rogers, of Texas, Mary, and her husband, Rex Edwards, of South Berwick, Maine, Roxanna, and her husband, Holman Grover, of Nebraska; and a brother, Russell, and his wife, Fae Allen of Eliot; and many nieces and nephews
