Richard (Rick) Leigh Blaney, age 52, of East Atlanta passed away on August 25, 2001 after an extended illness. He was born in Portsmouth, NH and grew up in Kittery, ME. Rick was a member of the Robert W. Traip Academy, class of 1967. In 1972 he graduated from the New Hampshire Vocational College in Portsmouth with an Associate in Applied Science in Mechanical Drafting. Rick went on to Rochester Institute of Technology and graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor of Technology degree. He worked for Atlantic Building Systems and then for East Atlanta Hardware until his disability retirement in 2000.

Rick was well known in the community of East Atlanta, where he was very involved in the local government and his neighborhood. He was well liked and will be missed by his many friends.
