Mary F.(Lara) Douglass, 67, of Morrells Mill Road, died Thursday, June 26, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loved ones, after a valiant battle against cancer.

She was born June 18, 1947 in Duplin County, North Carolina and became the daughter of Henry and Theresa (Acrea) Lara. She was a graduate of R. W. Traip Academy in Kittery after which she met at married the love of her life, Duane Douglass, with whom she would spend the next 47 years with.

Mary was a member of the Bethel Christian Church in North Berwick and enjoyed cake decorating and a very talented quilter. She will be sorely missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Duane of North Berwick, a daughter, Sara Douglass of Somersworth, NH, her mother, Theresa Lara of Deer Isle, ME and her 3 granddaughters who were the light of her life, Mya, Tatyana and Jacqueline.

She is also survived by her siblings, Henry Lara, Jr., James Bland, William Lara, Kenneth Lara, Barbara Vinciguerra, Louise Bland, Mary Decoff, Peter Lara and Josephine Lara.
