Cheryl Reddy (Carey)

CASCO, Maine — Cheryl Ann (Reddy) Carey, 52, died Saturday morning, Dec. 1, 2001, at a Portland hospital after a long and hard struggle with several illnesses.

She was born in Portsmouth, N.H., on Dec. 5, 1948, a daughter of James J. and Stasia Reddy, and was a 1967 graduate of Traip Academy in Kittery. She attended Fisher Junior College from 1968 to 1969.

She worked as a teacher assistant in special education at York High School from 1983 to 1993. She was a secretary-receptionist at Franklin Pierce College from 1993 to 1998 and was a secretary at Shaw Middle School in Gorham from 1998 to 1999.

She and her family were residents for 25 years of Sunrise Terrace in York. She and her husband fulfilled one of their lifelong dreams when they moved to Casco in 1998 to live at their home on Sebago Lake.

She was a communicant of St. Christopher-by-the-Sea Church of York and was a former volunteer for the church C.C.D. program.

She was a loving and caring wife and mother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Philip G. Carey of Casco; two sons, Scott J. Carey and his wife, Loretta, of Wells, and Steven M. Carey and his wife, Jennifer, of Saco; and her mother, Stasia Reddy, and sister, Paula Chase, both of Reading, Mass.
