He was 27 years old, riding a skateboard down Chevy Chase and grabbed onto a truck. He somehow ended up under it. He was in the hospital and in rehab for about 2 years. He died just short of his 30th birthday.
Cheryl--I had heard something completely different. All these years I had thought that he sustained a catastrophic cervical spine fracture while body-surfing at Newport Beach, and had been left quadriplegic/paralyzed. For years I thought of him every time I saw those big waves that crash in such shallow water. Maybe he somehow recovered enough to have the skateboarding accident?
