Michael Emmons

Mike Emmons, 27, of Winona, formerly of Caledonia, was killed March 25, 1975, when the pickup truck he was driving crashed into a bridge abutment on Hwy 16 a half-mile north of Hokah.

Emmons lived in Caledonia until about three months ago when he moved to R 2, Winona.  He was a distributor for Hamm's and Olympia beer.

He was born March 2, 1948, to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Emmons and he married Susan Jenkins in La Crosse.  He attended Aquinas High School where he was senior class president, and later graduated from the University of Minnesota.

He was employed by Mathy Construction for seven years until acquiring Marnach Beverage Company of Caledonia in 1973.  He changed the name to Mike Emmons Distributing Company.  The firm expanded into Winona County in 1974.  He was a member of the Caledonia Lion's Club, Jaycees, Winona Cagers Club and the Minnesota Beer Wholesalers Association.

He is survived by his widow; a son, Adam, 2; a daughter, Marybeth, 5; his father, who lives in St. Paul; his mother, a resident of La Crescent; two brothers, John and Fred, both of Minneapolis; a sister, Mrs. Terry (Kathy) Haagenson of Chatfield, MN; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hall of La Crosse; and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Morris Brown of Anaheim, CA.

Services were at Blaschke Funeral Home with Rev. Mr. Edwin P. Sheppard officiating.  Cremation followed.
