Greg R. Kabat, 66, of La Crosse died Tuesday Sept. 9, 2014, at his home.
He was born in La Crosse, to Jim and Betty (Wecker) Kabat. He married Vicky Sherry in 1968, at The Roncalli Newman Center in La Crosse.
Greg had many hobbies such as hunting, restoring cars and going to car shows and swap meets. He was a very handy man and was able to fix just about everything in sight. He worked at the La Crosse Cooler Company and then for the City of La Crosse, for over 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Vicky (Sherry) Kabat; one daughter, Kathy Kabat; one son, Robert (Dionne) Kabat; and three grandchildren, Scotty, Liddy and Karen. He is also survived by his brother, David (Mari Jo) Kabat; one brother-in-law, Mike (Cathy) Sherry; his stepmother, Beth Kabat; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and aunts.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Steve.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 16, at Blaschke and Schneider Funeral Homes, 1501 West Ave. S., La Crosse, with the Rev. Brian Konopa to officiate. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
