Dennis G. Klonecki

Dennis G. Klonecki, 65, of Eau Claire died suddenly Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, at his home.

Dennis was born to Clarence Klonecki and Bernice Meyer (Howly) March 10, 1950, in La Crosse. He graduated from La Crosse Central High School. Dennis married the love of his life, Janice “Jan” Horlacher, May 15, 1976, at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church, Eau Claire. Together they raised two wonderful boys, Jake and Ben.

Dennis worked at UW-Eau Claire for 33 years and retired Sept. of 2014. He enjoyed cheering on the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. Most of all Dennis loved to spend time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jan; sons, Jake (Amber) and Ben (Carla Biehl); grandchildren, Tegan, Jayden, Peyton and Bently; brother, Jeffery (Sandy); sisters, Peggy (Mel) Domenget and Mary Jo Rathman; brothers-in-law, Bill (Linda) Horlacher, and their daughter, Sarah, and Robert (Ruth) Horlacher; sister-in-law, Barb Root; and father-in-law, Marshall Horlacher.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry and James; brother-in-law, Ron Root; and mother-in-law, Lucille Horlacher.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona, with the Rev. Nate Aaseng officiating. Visitation will be the same day as the service from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Cremation Society of Wisconsin is assisting the family with arrangements.
