H. Sam Priest III
My Story:

At Country Day, Sam was a good-natured friend and strong student with a special interest in literary matters -- he worked on the newspaper, yearbook, and school play. He was an excellent tennis player who lettered as a sophomore and junior. In the yearbook we talked about his beloved motorcycle and his abilities as a guitar player. We thought he would do well at his college choice, the University of Pennsylvania, but most of us lost touch with him after then. After his freshman year, he displayed what we now know as bipolar disease. The drugs that routinely control it it were not available to him then. Fearing he would come to disappoint his family, he took his own life. His sister Susan Mesker remembers him to this day as "bright and fun-loving." If other classmates have memories of Sam, we hope you will add them here.
