Bob Andresen passed away on June 17, 2022. He died at home after several years of living with Alzheimer’s disease.
Bob attended UC Davis and was a member of the Theta Zi fraternity, where he met lifelong friends. After graduating from UCD in 1966, Bob attended UCLA dental school and then earned his degree in orthodontics from UCSF dental school. He opened his orthodontics practice in Davis where he practiced his profession for nearly 40 years. Bob loved getting to know his patients and their parents, many of whom he saw as he walked for years on the Covell Park greenbelt.
Bob was an excellent water skier and enjoyed going with friends to Berryessa, the River, Lake Tahoe or anywhere his ’60 Chris Craft would float. Bob’s particular waterski buddies were Bob Phillips and their mutual friend, Roger the Dodger.
Bob loved Lake Tahoe, where he and his wife, Joanne, built a vacation home. Bob hiked every trail in the area including the 165-mile Tahoe Rim Trail, which he completed with his good friend, Henk Blom. There was also a yearly pack trip with the Pinochle Gang: Henry, Mark, Dave and most important, the horse.
Bob will be missed and remembered by his family for his kindness and sense of humor, by his many patients for his exceptional service to the Davis community and by his devoted caregiver, Desmond Akingbade, for Bob’s ability to express his gratitude.
