Robert Lewis Sweetsir, II passed away peacefully on December 27 th , 2022. Robert is survived by his wife of 37 years, Laura Jo Sweetsir, children Sarah Elizabeth (Andrew) Earnest and Robert Lewis Sweetsir, III. 2 grandchildren Eliza Rose and Mary Elizabeth. He was predeceased by his parents Helen Josephine Bell Templeman of Fox Lake, IL and Robert Lewis Sweetsir, Sr. of Naples, FL and one sister. Christine Sweetsir of Chicago.
Bob was proud to be known as a Vietnam Veteran, and a loyal Legacy Life Member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars. Bob served 2 tours of duty aboard the USS Enterprise. Other than his family those were his fondest memories. He was part of the Flight Deck Veterans Group, Carolinas Chapter and enjoyed working alongside his fellow group aboard the USS Yorktown in Charleston, renovating the F-18.
Per his wishes, we will have no funeral services but will hold a Celebration of Life at VFW Post 9273, where he was Past Commander. Details will be sent out at later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with numerous cost - mailed to home or electronic methods or donations made to the VFW National Home in Eaton Rapids, MI.
