I woke up this morning and logged onto the website only to find that my childhood friend, Mary Huffman, has passed away....

I feel a bit sick and sad.

I had my first sip of Miller in a bottle with her.

She rode horses - very beautifully, I might add.

She had a wonderful smile; I loved her accent.

I used to ride with her mom to pick her up from riding lessons after school.

She wore the English riding attire and loved her horse, Ollie.

He was big and off white in color.

Her mom once gave me a wooden plaque that said "As you slide down the banister of life, don't get a splinter in your career!"

Altho I hadn't seen her since HS I could always find comfort in the memories and the notion that if "I was still alive, I had hope that she was too."

Now, after this news...

I can still hold those memories close to me but now I will do it with tears in my eyes.

I love ya, Mary.

Thanks for the memories!

Mary and I were good friends in 8th and 9th grade. I remember her sweet disposition, very quiet, and had quite a unique sense of humor. I used to go to her house after school and sit in her bedroom with the neon lights going listening to Pink Floyd and the likes. I also remember her LOVE of horses. She will be missed!
