Our 30 year reunion plans are all set. We are having our entire event at the new Hilton Garden Inn at the Lakeland Airport. This will give us the opportunity to spend more time together. The Hilton Garden Inn has 105 rooms, and to help the LHS class of 1979 celebrate, they have reduced their room rate to $79 a night for us for the weekend. It looks like we have a lot of interest from both local classmates and those coming in from out of town in staying at the hotel and making a weekend out of it, so act quickly and book your rooms early.
The Hilton has prepared our own web page so you can register on line. Click Book My Room At the Hilton or, you can call them at 863-647-0066 to reserve your room and use the Group Code 79LHS to get the reduced room rate. So that we all know who is planning on staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, if you are booking a room, please let me know and I will note it on the Look Who’s Coming link on our web site. It would be tons of fun if we could occupy the entire hotel!
If you have not done so already, register for the reunion weekend below. You can pay on line using Paypal, or mail in a check (mailing address below). Registration rates are $75 per person, and that includes the Friday and Saturday night event. Don’t miss this exciting weekend.
Advanced registration is required. No money will be accepted at the door. Registration deadline has passed. We will continue taking reservations as long as the hotel will allow us to make changes to the headcount number. Once they cut us off, we will not longer be able to take any additional registrations. So if you plan on attending register now!
Below is our plan for the weekend:
For those staying at the hotel, check-in time is 3:00 p.m.
Kick off the weekend at 7:00 p.m. Friday Night with a casual Jimmy Buffet cocktail party. Enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres, cash bar with Margarita and Island Drink specials, and beach music all night.
Saturday during the day for those that are staying at the hotel we will be hanging out by the pool. The hotel is also fully equipped with a fitness center, business center and restaurant. Pete Sawyer is also getting a golf game together for Saturday at Eaglebrooke. Time: 1:00 p.m., Cost: $40. Please contact Pete Sawyer to reserve your spot at pete@sunsouthlease.com.
Saturday evening we will have our Saturday Night Disco party, which will begin at 8:00 p.m. This will be a casual night as well, but feel free to wear your 70’s disco attire if you dare. Dinner will not be served at the Saturday night event, we want this night to feel like a real disco, however, we will be having a midnight buffet. We are also inviting our friends from the 1978 and 1980 class to come to the disco party as well as our favorite teachers. If you have someone specific that you want invited, please send me a message with their contact information, or feel free to contact them directly and direct them to the Guest Registration Tab on our web site and they can register and pay on-line.

Registration rate for both nights is $75 per person. If you are only able to come one night, the cost for Friday night is $40 and the cost for Saturday night is $35.
