LAKELAND - Rex Watson Sr., 54, passed away Monday, May 18, 2009 at LRMC pending results.
Mr. Watson was born October 28, 1954 in Geneva, AL. He moved to Lakeland in 1957. Since he was involved in livestock, racing as a car owner, push truck, and broom truck for many years at Auburndale & Lakeland Speedway. He will be severely missed by the racing community. As well as the business community as he was owner of Watson Radiator. We miss and love you so much!!!
Mr. Watson is survived by his wife Helen, three sons: Rex Jr. (Denise), Mathew (Ana), Kenny (Kristen), four grandchildren: Michael, Shelby, Logan, and Garrett, two foster children: Ashley and Brandon; sisters: Laura [Watson] (Ray) Fillinger, Ruth Watson; brothers: Thomas, James (Donna), and William (Betty).
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at David Russell Funeral Home. Located at 2005 S. Bartow Rd. (US 98 South) Lakeland, FL. Service will be Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Oak Hill. Located at 4620 US 98 South, Lakeland, FL 33812. In lieu of flowers donations may be made.
