Edd died the fall of 2008. From what I understand he had stopped to help someone on the side of the road and he was struck by a semi truck. So very sad. RIP Edd. :(

Edward Corbet Koponen, age 39 of Longview, Texas formely of L'Anse Mi. passed away on Tuesday September 30, 2008 in Longview, Texas as a result of an accident.
He was born March 2, 1969 in Jacksonville, North Carolina son of Ronald A. and the late Sandra (Arbin) Koponen. He graduated from L'Anse High School in 1987 Salutatorian and went on to Aquinas College in Grand Rapids Mi. where he graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration in 1992.
Edwards favorite hobby was to travel. He worked as supervisor for Old Navy and Sam Goody Records in Longview, Texas. Edward was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in L'Anse.
Surviving are his father Ronald A. Koponen of L'Anse; brothers Marcus (Shawn) Koponen of Wakefield, Mi.; his sister Amanda (Charles) Elam of Westland Mi. and his very special friend Alyna Tollefson on L'Anse.

Edd and his partner Ed were stopped in traffic cause another truck had gone off the road when a semi stuck them from behind and killed them both.I am forever thankful we kept in touch...I miss him so much!
