Comments:

Joanne Dault (Hochstein) and Theresa Lehto (Bianco) both asked me to check out this site and put up a profile. My High school years were not the greatest years of my life so I hesitated, although Heidi Tollefson (Darcy) mentioned it again today and I did give it a look. It was really nice to see everyone's names and what everyone has been doing. So, I'm caving in and putting up a profile. My proudest accomplishment is my family. My husband is wonderful (although he does make me want to kill him every now and then) and my kids are great. I have a nice family life and enjoy spending most of my time with them.

School Story:

Oh my god...where to start. You'll all likely remember me as a rebel without a cause. HA! HA! I was much more shy and self-concious back then, many of you probably didn't realize that. It was hard for me to meet people and be in groups. I always felt like someone who had two heads or like the butt of someone's joke. I guess being a rebel was my way of dealing with my lack of social prowess. I would say I'm still a bit of a rebel but I have learned how to deal with my insecurities and can now socialize just fine!

Great!

Most Embarrassing School Moment

I'm still too embarassed to talk about it...kudos to Brian Menard for being so brave! My second most embarrassing moment was getting caught in the school basement with my boyfriend and another couple. And no, there wasn't any sex going on! We just wanted to smoke somewhere warm. Really!

Your Hobbies:

My main hobby is horses. We have two Paint horses that my kids and myself show at the horse shows in Pelkie. My daughter is especially talented and has been on the back of a horse since she was 8 months old. Horses are an addiction! I am the Vice-President and Secretary of the Rusty Spur Horse Club in Pelkie. We run 3-4 shows, a clinic and a fun show each summer. It's alot of work but so much fun. I also enjoy fishing but my husband is a big walleye fisherman so takes all the fun out of it. I'm happy catching bluegills!

Do you keep in touch with old classmates? If so, who?

Yes. I see Joanne Dault (Hochstein) often. She helped me out ALOT with my kids when they were in BHK. I work with Theresa Lehto (Bianco). My son is good friends with Diane Ross (Koskinen's) little boy. I occasionally see Michelle Picciano, Michelle Joki, and Sarah Smith. I see Brian Menard strolling down Methodist church hill once in awhile. I see Tanya Johnson (Fredrickson) alot, she has horses too. And I bump into Carrie Budreau (Sikkila) now and then, also has horses.

While in High School, what career did you see yourself doing. And, are you doing it now?

I was never sure what I wanted to do until I was out of school for awhile. I thought I'd just get married and have kids. After working for a few years at Wahmhoff's Tree Farm, a few horrible waitressing jobs, and a few factories in New Hampshire, I decided to get into Nursing. I started out as a CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) then eventually went on to nursing school.

List up to 10 things you'd want to do before you die.

See Canada from end to end, ten times.

Have you ever loved so much that it made you cry?

Yes

For those of you who are parents - Do you find yourself saying things that your parents said to you? If so, what?

Yes. Stay away from that boy! Do your homework! You have a temper just like your father!

Where is the farthest place you've traveled from L'Anse? Where was it? For vacation, business, or because you resided there? Lastly, did you like it, and would you go there again?

Probably New Brunswick, Canada. I was living in New Hampshire in 1989-1991 and used to drive up the coast of Maine alot to see countryside that reminded me of home. On one trip I ended up in a little reservation town in New Brunswick. Alot like L'Anse & Baraga. More bars than churches, Tribal Police, friendly small town people, etc.

What is your favorite type of music? Any favorite CD's, or songs?

Anyone who would look at my CD collection would think I was schizophrenic! I like everthing from Bob Dylan to Metallica. My daughter even has me enjoying Hannah Montana!

Got gray/white hair yet? Or is your hair just falling out?

My blonde hair turned dish water with a grey tint! HA! HA! Thank goodness for "blonde in a bottle."

Aside from human beings; what is the one possession or material thing you couldn't live without?

A car. I love to drive!

Do you have any tattoos? If so, where, what, and how many?

Yes. Only two. One is the heart on my hand from about 1986. It's been re-done a few times so looks nicer now. The other is a porcupine quill and pink bead chain around my wrist. It's after the real one I wore when I got married. (I know... so sappy).
