John Howard Lovell born March 4, 1939, age 78, my lovely man is gone. He passed away at his cabin on March 15, 2017 surrounded by all that he held dear.

John was preceded in death by his son, Jon Cary, and parents, Earl & Anna Lovell. Surviving are his beloved wife of 58 years, Kay Lovell; Children, Erick P. Lovell, Dianna K. Lovell; granddaughter, Cassandra Walker; six sisters who loved him dearly as he loved them, Joanna (Gene) Smith, June Short, Judy (Michael) Minich, Lovella "Lovey" Lovell, all of Lansing, Jean (David) Fortman of Mooresburg, TN, and Joyce Depue of Holt; many nieces and nephews; his best friend and brother in law A.J. (Linda)  Monroe; His many dear and loyal friends of both Evart and Lansing, all "his girls" the kitties. 

John had a great heart; he had love for everyone that he met. He had a great love for life. He loved bowling, pitching softball, driving stock cars, and dirt racing motorcycles for which he has many trophies. John loved machines and working on them.  Nascar was important to him, he knew as many of the drivers as he could.  He was an avid
reader, loved to cook, and could answer any trivia question as well. John also loved a good debate with anyone at any time. He was an excellent fisherman on the Muskegon River. John was an outdoorsman; knew the flora and fauna as well as the creatures of the wild. John was a dedicated mailman working for the postal service for 37 years before he retired.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. prior to the service at Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Homes 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing.
