William Speer "Bill"

William "Bill" Speer St. Johns Age 71 passed away September 10, 2009. He was born May 13, 1938 in Lansing to Victor and Evelyn (Bengry) Speer. Bill retired from Pro Bowl East; he was a member of the American Coaster Enthusiasts. He had volunteered at the Steam Railroading Institute of Owosso for the past 5 years; the home of the "1225" from the movie, The Polar Express. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Victor Speer and brother, David Speer; survived by mother, Evelyn Speer; daughters, Terri (Gil) Bettinger of Okemos and Cindie (Mike) Boobyer of Jackson; son, William "Bill" (Missy) Speer, II of Grand Junction, CO; grandchildren, Shelia (Dave) Stafford, Jaime Bettinger, Chad and Levi Wolf, Zoey and Victor Speer, Hannah and Morgan Boobyer; 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 14, 2009 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing at 12:00 noon with Rev. Don Denyes of South Church officiating.
