Carolyn Nancy Waterbury

August 7, 1939 - January 21, 2017

Carolyn Nancy Waterbury, 77, of Charlotte, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Carolyn was born on August 7, 1939, to Ted and Beatrice (Sargent) Cutter. She graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1957, and married Arden Waterbury on June 23, 1960. She began working at Motor Wheel in 1971 as a cost accountant until they closed. She then worked at Impression 5 as a bookkeeper and eventually retired from Meijer in Mason.

Carolyn was a former member of the Eagles club in Holt, Aerie #3734.

She participated in Motor Wheel golf league as well as was an avid bowler in the women's bowling league at Pro Bowl. Carolyn enjoyed flower gardening and used it as her way to release stress. She also enjoyed crocheting, cooking, camping as a family at the Maranatha church camp for young adults, sewing, traveling and her dogs. She was always known as very young at heart and willing to help or lend an extra hand when needed which was showcased when she transported Beekman Center students.

Carolyn is survived by her sister, Joyce Ann (Woody) Rooker of Lima, Ohio; sons, Mark (Stephanie) of Charlotte, and Brian of Haslett; 7 grandchildren, Jason, Samantha, Maggie, Casey (Kayla), Cody, Steven, and Crystal; 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Arden Joy Waterbury, brother, Gilbert Cutter, and son, Michael Waterbury. The family would like to thank Carrie Montague of Family Matters AFC for all of the love and care she provided to Carolyn over the last 16 months.

Memorial services are planned for Friday, January 27, 2017, 4:00 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Slivensky, of Charlotte officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 26, 2017, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home. The Waterbury family would like to invite family and friends to a gathering following the services at The Hall, 127 South Cochran, Charlotte.
