In Memory

Patsy Quinn (Hek)

Patsy Quinn (Hek)

My "bestest" buddy passed away yesterday. 4/20/20. Patsy Quinn Hek was treated for lung cancer this past summer. She had undergone both chemo and radiation, which removed the tumors. However, she never really fully recovered from the treatments. I spoke with her about 3 weeks ago, and it was very hard for her to speak. Her lungs couldn't function as well as they should. She ended up in the hospital where they tried to help her breathing on oxygen. Yesterday, her husband, Wally, was in the process of having her transported to hospice when she took her last breath. I will miss Patsy tremendously! On the plus side, we have another classmate to greet us when we are called to join them! -- Tina

Thank you, Denise!  You never had a dull moment hanging with Patsy!  The stories I could tell!! ;)  She really helped me get through the trials and tribulations of Pallotti.

Chappie - the irony is that it wasn't until after she had stopped smoking that the tumors were found.  Not saying that the tumors could have already been there...

Tina, I'm so sorry to hear about Patsy. She and I "spoke" on FB messenger last summer a few times and then in October after she started her treatment. I'm glad I was able to get to know her thru FB the last few years. I enjoyed seeing her grand babies' pictures. My condolences to you,Tina, and Patsy's family.

Love, Barb

Tina, Sorry to hear about Patsy.  We chatted a little at the last reunion.  She was a very nice person, whished I knew her better.  I can see why you two were best buddies.  Hope to see you at the 50th, if it happens.  John

Although I didn't hang out with Patsy in school, I was reminded of what a sweetheart she was when we exchanged a few emails last year.  My heartfelt sympathy to you Tina.  I thought of you immediately upon hearing of her passing.  Take care and hope to see you at the reunion this Fall.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments.  I still cannot believe she has left us.  I keep checking Words with Friends to see if she completed her turn....  I pray that she is with her Mom and making up for lost time with her.  I am blessed to have her as a bestest buddy, and one of these days I will join her.  Look out Heaven (? - me) when we meet up again!

I am so sorry to hear about Patsy.  We were "friends" on Face Book but really only commented on each other's grandchildren.  I reached out to her several times on Messenger to try to meet for lunch on my way down or back from seeing my sister in Orlando, but I never heard back from her.  Guess I know why now.  She must have been going through so much and that was her focus.

Prayers for her peaceful transistion on the next phase of her soul's jouney..

I recorded a piano piece, "I'll Be Seeing You", which I'd like to dedicate to Patsy.
