STATE,
Patricia Ann "Patty" (McCabe)

Patricia "Patty" Ann (McCabe) State died in Portland, Oregon on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the age of 74 from Alzheimer's Disease, with her husband and three daughters at her side. She was born in New York City in 1941 to Percy McCabe and Josephine Molloy McCabe, and was raised in Leonia, New Jersey. She grew up working alongside her dad in the local ice cream shop and bars he owned, before attending LaSalle Junior College. She moved to NYC after college, then took a job at TRW in Washington DC where she met her husband Tom. They married in 1967 and relocated to Redondo Beach, California. They had three daughters who Patty stayed home to raise in their early years, before taking on a job as an office manager where she worked for nearly 15 years.
In 1994, Patty retired to stay home and care for her beloved mom, Josie, until her passing in 1995. They later moved to Spokane, Washington in 1999, where they lived until 2012 before moving to Portland, Oregon where they could be cared for by their daughter. Despite suffering from Alzheimer's, Patty maintained her sense of fun and enthusiasm for life, endearing herself to those around her even more. She was the perfect wife and mother, and the best friend her husband ever had.
Patty is survived by her husband Tom, and three daughters: Anne State of San Diego, Laura Bonin (Mark) of Torrance, CA, and Leigh State of Portland, OR; and her brother Peter McCabe (Marilyn) of Rockville, MD. Donations in her honor can be made to The .
