Lisa Griffin Pipes

I left West Limestone and went to the University of Montevallo. I roomed with Adel Siniard. I was such a little fish and UM was a good fit for me. After 3 years I left and went to Auburn, so I could get a PR minor to go along with my English degree. Next, I went back to UM for my Master’s in English. I know, I know….. I could have been the next Margie or Judy….but my Aunt thought I needed to expand my horizons and she got me an application for a government job. I went into the intern program for Tech Pubs and that is basically what I have done for almost 25 years. I started with Redstone Arsenal in Dec 1985. My job now only has a small part of tech pub involvement, but that is still my big love. I married Charlie Pipes in 1993. We met in Arizona on a government trip. He was in the USMC at the time. He retired in 1995 from Cherrypoint, NC and moved to Alabama. We built a house in West Limestone (got the land from Paul Hastings) and had Levi in Sep 1996. Reanna came along in April 1999. They both go to West Limestone and are really active there. Which means I am really active there. I tell you – I waited so much later to have my kids than many of you. I admit I’m more patient by being older, but I sure am tired! However, there are several of our classmates with kids my age or younger. Reanna is playing softball and Levi has just made the golf team. They are both in Scouts and Levi is in the band. I would give anything if he could have Mr. Bullard!
