Received Degrees in both Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Athens State. Later added on Middle School Social Science. While going to college, I also worked at J&G Sales.
Taught five years at different schools in Athens. In July 2000 met Tim Long and in August was hired to teach Kindergarten at Richland High School in Giles County, Tennessee. Continued living at my same childhood home until I married Tim in June 2001. We then made our home in the Reid Community. Long drive to Richland Tennessee!!! In August 2002 I was moved to third grade at Southside Elementary in Pulaski, Tennessee. Received tenure and taught one more year. I was pregnant for most of the school year and this made my drive seem even longer (morning sickness, ugh!!!).
I loved teaching in the school but I resigned after Hannah was born in June. I knew my place was at home. While pregnant with Trent, I started a home floral business. I'm in the yellow pages, Vickie's Floral Creations. Trent was born in Dec. 2006 and our second son, Naven was born Aug. 2008.
Tim is a great husband and father. He works hard to provide for us. He is employed full time as a CNC machinist on the Arsenal. He also has his own business, Long's Windows, on the side.
I feel that I have really been blessed since graduation. While I've had many good blessings, I have also had some tough challenges to work through. Some have been health issues I'm still coping with but I know God is on my side. I live my life by putting God first. Tim too is a christian, and we are raising our children to know and love God. We are members at Beulah Church of Christ and would love to have anyone visit.
