ANNOUNCEMENTS

Checkout "Reunion 2018 Photos" on the web site.  Happy to add any new pictures anyone might have. How is Covid going for everyone - did your life change - let us know.

So many memorable events took place in 1968. The country mourned the losses of Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy. The Vietnam War was happening on the other side of the world. American Black athletes expressed themselves in never before seen ways at the Olympics in Mexico. The space program continued to amaze, launching the first un-manned rocket to orbit the moon. The music ranged from the Beatles, to Mowtown, to folk and to rock and roll. The movie theatres were showing “Planet of the Apes”, “Rosemary’s Baby” and “Bullit” to name a few. And on a hot and humid June 7, 1968, 257 well -mannered and educated young men and women received diplomas acknowledging their completion of four jam packed years at Libertyville High School. (Well mostly well-mannered and somewhat educated.)
Fifty years later there are still wars happening on the other side of the world and American athletes are still expressing themselves in never before seen ways. The music of 1968 can be considered classical and the movies are difficult to find. And while the 257 graduates have dwindled with many classmates having passed, the Wildcat spirit of those left has not waned.
In honor of the 50th anniversary of our graduation from Libertyville High School a weekend reunion is being planned. Please plan on joining us on October 12, 13 and 14 2018 to relive our glory days and catch up with old friends. Your reunion committee has been busy making plans. We will be getting together on October 12 at Post Times Sports Bar in Libertyville and will be having dinner at Dover Straits in Mundelein on October 13. We will also be hosting an optional Sunday brunch on October 14 at a location yet to be determined.
If you joined us for the 45th reunion you know it was a fun, gratifying time. If you were unable to attend that one, mark your calendars and plan on attending this one. Be on the lookout for more information to come and if you have contact with fellow classmates make sure you remind them as well. We really are looking forward to seeing as many classmates as possible.
