Daniel Eric Hashbarger (45) passed away June 6th, 2012 at his home in Henderson NV after a 9-month battle with brain cancer.
He was born Feb. 17th, 1967, the son of Lee and Margit (Spielmann) Hashbarger who survive in Lima.
In 1985 he graduated from ...Bath High School and in 1991 from Ohio University.
He was a pharmaceutical representative for Sanofi and Scios from 1991-2004 in Nevada and California.
He owned a "Scoot Car" franchise from 2004-2008 at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco.
He was a commercial real estate agent with Marcus & Millichap in Las Vegas/Henderson from 2008 until his illness was diagnosed on September 6th, 2011.
He loved sports. He played football from Midget through High School and intramural at OU.
He trained as a triathlete and completed five triathlons and an Ironman in Las Vegas and San Francisco.
He loved cycling, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding and scuba diving.
Survivors also include his sister Sonya (Nathan) Osting of Delphos, his Uncle Ned Hashbarger and several cousins in the U.S. as well as his Aunt and Uncle, Rolf and Monika Spielmann and several cousins in Germany.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Harold and Margaret Hashbarger of Leipsic, maternal grandparents Erich and Johanna Spielmann of Berlin, Germany, a half-sister Linda (Hashbarger) Doyle, an aunt and two uncles in the U.S. and an uncle and a cousin in Berlin, Germany.
His friends and family are invited to Teddy Bear Park, 2004 N. Dixie Hwy.,Lima, on Sunday, Aug. 19th at 2pm to reminisce and remember Daniel.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Marion Township Cemetery, Hamler, Ohio.
