Coach Denny Pueltz walked into the locker room after a Saturday morning football practice and said, "Where's Strnad and Colborn?" Jim Graul spoke up and said that Ron and I were playing a gig with our rock band. After an especially gruelling Monday practice and as our team was jogging into the locker rooms, Coach Pueltz called Ron and I back to the field and told us that as punishment for missing the Saturday practice, we had to run winds sprints, and the "ladder." Goal to the 10 yard marker and back, goal to 20 and back, goal to 30 and back, etc, and we did the whole length of the football field. Jim Graul was a humorous guy and was a friend in spite of ratting Strnad and I out. God Bless you Jim.
Peace. Scott

Graul and I grew up together. Cub Scouts - Boy Scouts. Jim was an Eagle scout. He could sell more Christmas Holly than anyone I knew.

We were buddies at Sheridan grade school, Irving Jr High (I remember a great "fight" we got into after school) and finally SE High School.

He was my best friend...

I remember Jim well from junior high (Irving) and high school. He always impressed me as particularly skilled at having fun, and for getting in trouble for it. He was delightfully entertaining to be around, until an authority figure showed up...at which point he became Eddie Haskell.

May he rest in peace.
