School Story:

It was a big adventure going to the US on my own. I stayed with the Helen and Kenneth Dodge, friends of my grandparents. It was all very different and mainly because of all the school activities the schools have here. This we don't have, you just go to school and afterwards you sport or do things with different organizations. The Pepclub was something!! Wearing the uniform and going to all those Football and Basketball games. And those YELL's :-) I never forget the slumber party they had for my birthday! Since high school I kept a close contact with Mary Geisler (Dahle)and her family and Susan Cummings (Carlson) and even had our visits. It has been a great experience that year in Lincoln.

Any higher education or advanced degrees?

After high school I started and finished nurses training. Then I started working in the pathologist department of a hospital. I did so till we had children and in the meantime studied administration and bookkeeping. When they grew up and were less independent I started working again.

What do you do now?

We are now retired, and just love our free time together.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time I like taking long walks with our dog. I like photography, reading, bird watching, nature, ect. At the moment I am working on our family tree and traced it way back till 1648. It is fun because I have also a lot of pictures from around 1850 to go with it. We enjoy spending time with our grandchildren. During the summer we take out our caravan and make trips.

What's the farthest you've been from home?

San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Califonia and ofcourse lots of places in Europe.
