Bob Andelt

From Lincoln Star Obituaries 1/23/2013

Robert H. "Bob" Andelt, 59, of Lincoln, left this world from the comfort of his home on Monday (1-21-13). Born (10-30-53) in McCook to Warren and A. Elaine (Hopkins) Andelt. Bob moved to Lincoln with his family at age 8 and he remained a resident of Lincoln until his death. Smart, funny and principled, Bob made many friends during his 51 years in Lincoln. Bob was employed as a switchman at BNSF and enjoyed carrying his golf bag, listening to vinyl on his stereo and long road trips out west. An avid public golfer, and always striving to improve, Bob's philosophy was a bad day of golf is better than a good day without.

Survived and greatly missed by his wife of 31 years, Mary (Levisay) Andelt; father, Warren; sister and brother-in-law, Laurie and Les Kaufman, Idaho; Laurie's children, Tonya (Lind) Condotta, Washington, Andrew Lind, Washington, and Rachel Kaufman, Idaho.

Private family inurnment at Westminster Presbyterian Columbarium at a later date. Informal gathering of friends will be held from 2 - 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27, at Highlands Golf Course Clubhouse, 5501 NW 12th Street. Sad...the world is less without Andelt. He was as his family described him, "Smart, funny and principled."
My condolences to his family and dearest friends.

I went to the baseball games. Here's to the memories...

My fondest memories of Bob were our years at Irving.  Bob and my brother picked up on the same corner  the Lincoln Journal.  I gladly subbed for my brother just to roll the newspapers and flirt with Bob:)   Rest in peace and may the good Lord hold you.  Karen

Bob and I went to some prom together when we were at Irving.  His sister, Laurie, was our chaperon and drove us there.  It was around Christmas because I can see our 'flocked' tree in the background.  A great guy and will certainly be missed.

My fondest memories of Bob were at Irving & hanging out with other friends.  I remember that special smile he had & his personality was exactly as I remember as others saying, smart, funny & a great guy to be friends with.  I am sorry to hear of his passing & he will remain in all of our memories.  Connie Strnad (Cline)

Our man Flint.  Bob always had total control over the direction of his life.  He was too smart to do anything else.
