This one's cake - "Not a nun, but a Nan" - Burling Berghel. Too many nights of play rehearsals to forget her!

Part 1. Tinius was probably afraid of heights, or falling off a bridge early in life. No more explanation required.
Part 2. Tinius asked if they needed to go number one or number two. Appears unanimous.

Part 1 - Tinius "whined" about taking bridge pictures because he had to stand in the middle of the street and dodge traffic - or risk getting run over by a truck!
Part 2 - Good answer, Kuch. I can't top that!

Claire Alyward, Anna Last, Marilyn Vestica are 3 of the 4 in the picture - but I can tell you 2 of the hands are mine and 2 are Eloyce Johnson's (Jensen) . How crazy could we have been!!
Great website and fun to remember!

Claire Aylward, Anna Last, myself, and Marilyn Vestecka
A. The song was Ma-na-ma-nah
B. It was at the Greenie Goldie Vaudeville show '69
C. The "hands behind the scene" (if I remember right) - Eloyce Johnson, Patti Tuder, Betty Knight and Jeanne Young???
What a blast that was and, Anna, thanks for your artistic genius!

I don't remember everyone who was working behind the curtain but I know I was one of them -- somebody's legs, I think. Good time!

Kathy Hamersky is turning pages for my old buddy Johannes Brand at the piano. He was an exchange student from Berlin, Germany. Last I looked there were still 88 keys on a standard piano, but the way Johannes rocked, he may have ejected a few. He was a die-hard fan of British blues rocker John Mayall.

Well, you got his name and country right, but Johannes was from Frankfurt. His dad owned a lighting store there. I know this because Jeff Bryant and I stayed with him when we toured Europe in '71. Ended up sleeping on his floor after being told we couldn't return to the youth hostel... but then, that's another story. I thought there were 347 keys on a piano...

Tom Ineck is correct, except for where he is from. I know it was Germany, but not sure where. Way to go Tom. You have a great memory.

Tom- I sure didn't know you were so into music in high school, probably lots of us didn't. Through your posts we are all getting to know you a lot better. I hope you share some of that musical talent with us this summer! ADnd you were right on the spot with the answer (as I remember it). Our piano only had 86 keys-my younger brother pried 2 off-right in the middle.

We all want to know why you could not go back to the youth hostel Dennis? Will they even let you and Jeff back in Germany. Is it ok to mention I know you or will I be put on a No Fly List.

Johannes George Brand was from Germany. When Dan McGovern and I were bumming around Europe in 1971-72, we visited him. It may have been Mannheim. He was a gracious host. Anybody in touch with him. It would be fun to have him in Lincoln for the reunion in August.

WOW If memory serves, Dick is demonstrating his "shot-put" form. ( using a roll of toilet paper ) I do not remember for sure but I think it was in the basement at Patty Fijan's and it was prom night. I also recall that this ended with a broken piece of furniture !!!

Yes, we did visit him just after he started his college semester. I had to look at a map, but I think it was in Hamburg. Mannhiem is where we got busted for trying to recoup some of our income taxes in the form of "C" rations on the side of the autobahn one Sunday morning with Pvt. Houlihan.

DANNY/MARK,
AFTER SUPPLYING YOU W SOME OF THE US ARMY'S FINEST IN NON-PERISHABLE MEALS(C-RATS)-I THOUGHT YOU GUYS WERE ON YOUR WAY TO VISIT JOHANNES.
JOHANNES WAS IN COLLEGE AT UNIVERSITY OF MARBURG..MARBURG GERMANY.
IF I RECALL-THAT CAMPUS WAS A HOTBED OF RADICAL JIHADIST ACTIVITIES.
PRETTY SURE JOHANNES DIDN'T JOIN IN THE WEEKLY PROTEST MARCH--HE WAS BUSY HOLDING DOWN THE EXTREME BEVERAGE TABLE AT LOCAL GASTHAUS-"PROST"

This is totally a guess, but it looks like it's behind the football bleachers, (even though you said it is off campus).
As for the watchband, Pat Keady has a few boxes of those he made at Gepetto's, (but didn't sell).
Oh, and the hats; Damn if I know. I'd guess Steve's dad came up missing one and Keefe probably borrowed his from one of the cheerleaders.

Gerry, you are right, that's at the old KLMS radio station off 84th Street! (RE: your kids' names, I hope you don't call them by the cat's name, like I've been known to do to my kids.)
The watchband: Dick, do you still have that? It's probably a collector's item by now!
The hats: Don't know where they got them, but what happened to the propeller on Dick's?

I loved Mrs. Butler.
She was a sweet lady.
A favorite memory is...
One day she asked Zitek and I to go to Hovland-Swanson to pick up something for her... during the school day. We made it past Fr. Vap, but got caught when the elevator door opened at Hovlands and there stood my mom. OOPS!!!
And yes boys, she gave dating advice :)
I believe Dennis called her, Lois.

Geez - I've been away awhile. Hanigan, to answer your question, I think our transgression with the youth hostel had something to do with a little too much Rhenania Alt and excessive boisterous behavior after lights out. But, it has been nearly 40 years, so my memory could be off. Haven't set foot in Germany since. Oh, by the way, did you ever find those pictures I sent you about 30 years ago?

Lois Butler was one of the Secretaries for PX ,as we all know. I am sure she knew way too much info that was taking place with Dennis and friends etc. Smart way to keep up on what class of 70 was doing.........
