Since graduating from high school, I graduated from Auburn University (AUM) with B.S., Livingston University with M.Ed., then back to Auburn for Ed.S., and Ph.D. I have taught elementary, high school, college and university levels. My love of travel interested me in starting my own tour company that required me to later give up my academic career to run the company. Since graduating from Marengo Academy, I have travelled to more than 100 countries. My passion has been travel all my life and I enjoy travelling around the world with groups from Univ. of Alabama Study Abroad Programs and with my own company clients at Worldwide Travel & Tours. I also own greekformals.com company that is now the world's largest event planner for collegiate greek organizations. Therefore, I have very little time to do anything except work. Dear Classmates, I apologize for not being in touch more often and active with homecoming events, etc., as I miss each of you. Few of you know my unbelievable health problems. However, I’v experienced what most people would think is impossible as one tragedy after after which started with a terrible fall that broke both my legs, four ribs, collar bone which required me to be in a wheelchair for six months. Then I went to Birmingham and had eye surgery and lost eye sight in one eye for six months. As if this wasn’t enough, I then I had a stroke a few years ago, that put me in a deep depression. I thought what else could happen now? Well...A year later, I fell in the shower and broke my hip into and had to have emergency surgery. I have a rare blood type that DCH did not have on hand. Therefore, I was put on life support for hours until blood could be flown to DCH from Atlanta Red Cross, then it happen that someone at Red Cross marked the blood the wrong type once injected into my body my body temperature rose to 107 then I went into a coma as my body rejected the wrong blood type. To say the least, I came very close to dying the photos of my body were unbelievable. Believe it not, I then after three months contracted titanium poison from the titanium metal hip that was place and then the surgeon admitted he accident cut the nerve to my bladder which caused serious problem. I’m not saying all this to give satan any glory I am saying this because no matter what you may be going through or may go through in the future, when you think you can’t take another “set back” God will say “yes you can”. MY faith in God hasn’t been demised one iota .... but God never promises us a bed of roses and life without trials. God actually says in the Bible that Christians will be tests as by trials and tribulations as by fire to see if we are fit for the kingdom
of God. Many of my friends, tell me my life seems like “Job” in the Bible, but I see each challenge as a stepping stone to heaven. Yes I’ve questioned God “Why” but I know I’m not suppose too. God has blessed me in so many ways but satan has tried to take the joy away of my educational and financial success God has blessed me with ....but I refuse to let satan do so. Keep me in your prayers as I am going through a lot of health problems but my faith still remains faithful. God has brought me through all these trials and tribulations but I serve a mighty GOD who satan is no match for. Again, keep me in your prayers.
