I'm pretty sure Marc would hate the fact that I'm writing this, but I have to say some things about the guy who was to be my best friend in junior high.

Marc may have been rough around the edges and strong in his opinions, he was also intensely loyal those he called family and friends.  Being in almost every class together in the 7th grade, we grew to be friends. When my dad passed away when we were in 8th grade, he came up to me at my locker and said if I ever needed anything, he was there. That meant alot to me because with Marc, I knew he really meant it.

We grew apart in high school and even further afterwards, but we always had a bond that wouldn't break because of distance.

Marc became a police officer and served the county in various functions during his time with the department.

When I was substitute teaching at Glen Burnie High, Marc arrive with other officers for random drug inspections. In between classes, I was prepping for the days lesson on the chalkboard, Marc walked by and saw me. He came in, leaned against the desk and started laughing.

He said that looking at us now, he never expected to see the day where I would be standing in front of a class 'teaching', and he would be wearing a badge and in uniform!

I have to admit that even now, the thought is funnier than I can ever write it here.

We'd see each other every once in while since then, but as with almost everyone else in high school, the drifting apart never quite stopped.

Marc passed in April 2014.

It's been a long time since we last spoke to each other, and I'm still disheartened to know that he's gone.

Lord bless you, Marc.
