Ditto for me - will need details on Twisters - haven't been back home for 10 years - are we still planning on 7/26? without '87?

We have a wedding to go as well and will not be able to get there until around 8. I like the Twisters idea (not sure where it is though). Whatever the majority wants works for us. Whatever we decide, we should let 87 know in case some of them want to show up too.

Dee, how many have contacted you and said for sure they are attending?

Brenda Burns (Ketchum)

Hey guys,

This all sounds good to me. I should be able to attend. Is twisters a bar? Will this be a family event or just a class get together? Dee and Mike, I would be glad to help any way possible, just let me know.

Brenda

Twisters is in a strip mall in Bonner Springs right across from the old Walmart. It used to be called Shanigans (I think that was the name)..... This is a bar & grill with a little room that we could probably reserve. If you want me to call & check I would be happy to do so.

Deanna Franklin (Olsen)

Paige,
If you don't mind contacting Twisters to try to get the back room that would be great. Let's keep it the 26th and we can say 7pm?????

Do we want to bring kids or just pix guys?

I will let Michael know today.

I haven't talked to anyone outside of who is on this web site. I tried a number of ways but didn't have much luck except for you guys.

This will be fun! :-)

We will not be bringing our girls. We already have a sitter for them because the wedding we are going to prior is for adults only.

Rachel, (and everyone else)
will you ask your mom if she has or knows where a copy of the 8th grade News Report we did that was aired for the whole Jr. High that year, for newswriting might be if it is still around? Does anyone else remember this?

I would LOVE to get a copy of that and burn into to dvd and put together somekind of a slide show if anyone wants to email me pix or mail me some ( I will bring them to you at the reunion). Any other fun video's would work also, I can burn them all together. I can bring my laptop to play it on for those who want to watch.

Rachel Coatney (Smalley)

Deanna,
I will ask my mom about the News Report. I remember what you are talking about. In fact, I think I might have a copy in my old room at their house. Also, what does everyone think about the New Linwood Cafe? I have connections (my parents) with this and there is plenty of room to seat everyone and then some. The food is really good! Let me know.

Rachel

Rachel,

Great, please see if you have a copy.

I think the Cafe would be a fun idea to maybe meet the next day for a brunch goodbye. How many does it seat? We could let the class of '87 know since we are doing seperate gatherings now, and this could also be more business for your parents!

Janice Pitts (Sarlls)

Larry's Adult reunion is that same night, but we are going to figure out what we might be able to do? If anything he'll go to his and I'll come to Twister's. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. Thanks Dee for putting forth the effort to put this together.

I agree with Dee. I too like the Cafe idea for Sunday. We can make that more of a family event where those with kids can bring them.

Deanna Franklin (Olsen)

Yes, perfect Derek, this way if we want to show off our kids (at least most days I do ha ha ha) we can! :-)

I will be there and talked to Bardwell and he is coming. Has anybody talked to Buddy?

07/08/08 05:21 PM #29

Paige Johnson (De Leon)

David!!!! I tried to call you today. I spoke to Buddy and he thinks he can make it! I was trying to get a hold of Steve Bardwell & whitepages.com didn't list a phone for him so I am glad you spoke to him. I left a message for Stacy Smith to try & reach Scott Smith. I also called Wendy Mason's mom & left her a message to call me. I called Dava Carlton & left her a message as well. (Okay you grammer freaks don't hate on my sloppiness!)
Oh yea I also called Rachel Bosworth to try & reach Chris. There is also a Scott Malone in Overland Park that I left a message for so we will see if that pans out! Who else can we try & locate?

07/08/08 08:26 PM #30

Deanna Franklin (Olsen)

Paige, thanks so much for doing all that, I know it takes a lot of your time but it is sort of fun (I am such a nerd!). Wait...no comment please! :-)

Derek did you happen to get anywhere with any of your connections thru the force in locating anyone or did you get a chance to try?

I have sent emails to everyone I can find online (and hoping they were who I thought they were and not leaving someone thinking I am a crazy nut!)and thru classmates.com (I know Scott Malone was one of those on there) but never heard back from anyone else but those on here. It looks like we might actually have a good turn out.

Janice, did Dava ever return your call? I sent an email also (no reply) but didn't try to call her.

I never heard back from Stefanie Brown (McKinney) either. Isn't someone in a book club with her if I remember right?

07/09/08 10:22 AM #31

Deanna Franklin (Olsen)

Derek has tracked down Scott M., Scott S., Wendy, Chris, and Carl and will try to email them once he returns from vacation. THanks Derek, hopefully they will get your message or someone elses and respond!

If we all use our resources maybe we can have some luck reaching everyone to have a big turn-out (well as big as our class was anyway) ha ha ha.

Someone emailed about dress attire and I say we all go for casual and comfy; sound like a plan?

oh yeah, I am with Paige on the please forgive all my grammer errors and mistakes! :-)

07/10/08 04:54 PM #32

Rachel Coatney (Smalley)

Two Stefanie's (ef and ph) are in my bookclub. I will email Stefanie to make sure she knows about it. What about Pam Phillips (Widmer)? I've lost track of her over the last 2 years or so. How about Terri Budimlija and Stephanie Swan? Has anyone heard from them? I hope as many people can come as possible. This should be fun!

07/18/08 02:35 PM #33

Janice Pitts (Sarlls)

I talked to Paige and Pam today and they won't probably be able to be there until after 8:00, I won't be there until sometime between 8-9 myself.

Do we have a list of who can make it this weekend? For those that are coming from out of town; what hotel are you staying at?

07/23/08 06:44 PM #35

Paige Johnson (De Leon)

For all the out of towners.... There are two hotels right up the street from twisters! The holiday inn express & a super 8. The are both by eachother!!!!!

Janelle and I had a great time last night meeting and visiting with everybody. It was nice seeing everyone and catching up on lost time. I am glad to see the kids from the Class of 88 are doing well. Hopefully this website continues to serve as a means of keeping in touch.

Lastly, thank you Dee for taking the time to set the ball rolling and make all of this possible. You did an AWESOME job!!! We should have elected you class president. Stephanie, where were you? HeHe. Anyway, good luck to all.

Derek
