I will always remember Janet as my first friend when I started Mabelvale Elementary in 4th grade. There were bunkin' parties at her house where all of us girls displayed our dancing and "karaoke" skills before we even knew that word! Janet talked me into playing softball that summer after 4th grade, and even though I was a horrible athlete, she remained my friend for several years.

Our paths separated by high school, but Janet will always hold the "first friend" award in my heart for that first year as the new kid.

Wow, I think Janet was the first person I knew that was really "cool." She was so strikingly beautiful! I remember a crazy trip to Dallas with Carol and Barbara to see Cindy and Janet. They took us to "Gilly's and we rode the bull" ha, what memories!!

Janet was a beautiful person inside and out.  It is sad that she was taken so young. She lost her husband a few years before her car accident, in which she lost her son also. She left behind a son.  i think of her often. I know Janet was killed in a car wreck somewhere in the mid 80's.  I know she is missed by all who knew her. She had a heart of gold.

I met Janet in the 7th grade. We remained close friends throughout school. I didn't have a very large circle of friends but I am honored that Janet was a close friend. I cannot think of her without thinking of Barbara and Donny. I spent so many good times with them , I can't mention them all. She has wings now to go with the beautiful person that I remember. You will always be missed.
