REMINDER/DEADLINE: Care package for our classmate, Keith Evans, by 12/3/2010.

During the holiday season, we need to remember our military, especially our classmate, Keith Evans. Please see the message listed below from Teresa White-Causey:

"Hey Caroline, In talking to Keith you know they don't get any kinda of supplies over in Afghanistan except for the stuff they take with them he will be there until June of next year. They don't have any kind of toiletries or medicines etc. I know in talking to him he was a little down it being the holidays in all he doesn't talk to his family at all.. He has never had anyone send him anything except for me and you guys in the past. He had some of his guys that he trained last week injured and one of his guys killed last week. He always calls and wants to talk when he is down it takes his mind off of that.. I talked to him about a care package for Christmas he said he din't want us to go out of our way but I know Keith he never wants anyone to waste there money on him.. He told me he was sure thankful for everything I sent him last year especially the medications, because they usually don't have those.. I just sent this stuff to him when we were dating..I know these are the things he likes.. Old Spice Hair/body Wash, Lufa, Alergy /sinus, Tylenol, Nyquil, Zicam Swabs,Q-tips, Arid XXX dri Arosol, Gillette Fushion Hydro gel Shaving Cream (Orange Can), Hot choclate w/ marshmellow, Frenh onion dip/chips, reeses cups, dark choclate m/m's, Dr. Pepper, Big Red gum, Cosmopolitan, Popluar Mechanics, Readers Digest, Cheetos. I went over everything with him I can't beleive I remembered everything he liked was right.. he said please don't send it but I know he would love to have it.. Especially if you have no one to get stuff from.. I just think it would be a nice jesture he can be our angel of the christmas tree.. he said he would like to have a small christmas tree. that would be nice.. You know they work everyday they get no days off.. I don't have his address yet he is sending it to me.. I will ship it to him.. If everyone will start gathering.. Thanks.. Teresa"

Also, Keith is so humble right now..I think he really is missing his friends.. Afghanistain is in a mess... I know Keith is living in a mud hut over there.. all though he says he loves what he does, you can really tell it is starting to get to him after being in for 26 years. Teresa

If you would like to donate money or buy any of these products for his care package, please inform me or Teresa by December 3.

Thank you so much,

Caroline

Wow... since many of us have started keeping up on Facebook, the messages on this site have really slowed down.  I have a whole year's worth of posts on one page!

With Christmas and New Year's both falling on Saturday... it was not possible to plan an LNO for December this year.  We are checking the calendar for January and will squeeze one in sometime between the BSC games and the Super bowl.

I hope everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas... and a Joyous New Year full of brighter days and new beginnings!

A HUGE Thank You for Contributing/Participating with sending Care Packages to Keith Evans!

Caroline Pruitt Schaefer December 23 at 5:42am
I want to thank those that gave/participated in the care packages for Keith Evans this month! A total of 6 have been sent at different intervals to him in Afghanistan.

He asked for a Christmas tree and Kim Mordecai sent 1 to him with decorations. Thanks again Kim! I bet that made his day and will make his Christmas better! He even sent a picture of it decorated with a sign thanking OUR CLASS to her! She posted it on her FB page last recently.

Also, I want to thank Teresa White-Causey for getting this project off the ground! She got his "wish lists" of items, we did some shopping together, and she shipped 4 boxes at different times. In addition, we purchased a small Christmas gift of a AR Hog/Sugar Bowl t-shirt with lounge pants for Keith.

I want to thank the other folks for taking time to buy items and sending their own care packages. Thank you so much, too!

I hope everyone will have a Merry Christmas AND Happy New Year!
Thanks a million everyone!

Caroline Pruitt Schaefer
P.S. This message was sent to the classmates on Facebook.
