Chandra passed away on March 4, 2001 at the age of 19 years. Her cause of death was complications from child birth. She is survived by her daughter Kennede Fleming, Guardian Doris Stephenson, sister Ebony Crutchfield, and her mother and father.
Chandra was one of my best friends in grade school with Mareka Austin. I loved her as my good friend and walked her home from school almost everyday. We use to have sleep overs at her house in West Gate Apartments. Those where the moments that I miss the most about her, and ofcourse when she started cutting holes in her clothes to make a fashion statement! She always did make a statement. We all love and miss you Chandra!
Lil Miss Chandra was a dear friend to me, we started to be friends at Baseline Elementary and we hung out all the time at recess, I really miss her I think of her the most around our birthday time in April. You will never be forgotten:)
I always think about Chandra, especially when I run into her Grandmother at church or just take a minute to cherish the moments I get to share with my children. I found out that I was about 6 weeks pregnant with my twin sons the day Chandra passed. I was really scared because she died from complications with her pregnancy, and I have never forgotten her. I still make up those words like, "cooperation-ation" and "dance-ation." That's from those drill team practices; fellow Lionettes remember that. I also remember the fashion statements as well as the piercings; Chandra was always at the center of attention. Those were the good old days, and Chandra will be in our hearts forever.
